Let's Have A "Mix Tape Summer"
My long awaited album "Mix Tape Summer" is finally here! I'm so excited to share it with you all.
GET YOUR SIGNED COPY! This was a labor of love for me. Aside from the Christmas album that I recorded with my wonderful friend Jason Slayton (Naked Christmas), I have not released any new music since my 2015 album "Exeter" (a collection of songs I recorded for my parents after they passed away). The past 8 years have been very tumultuous. I struggled with my sobriety, and went through some very painful breakups in the relationship department. I longed to return to music professionally. It was something I missed on a very deep level. Alas, the older I got, the more I kept telling myself the chance to embrace music has slipped through my fingers, I was "too old", and I should give up my silly dreams and focus on getting a "real job".
At the beginning of 2019 I got sober again, and a huge part of my sobriety was sifting through all the negative thought patterns I had accumulated. It was during this process that I realized how desperately I missed making music and entertaining people. It's something that gives me so much joy. I knew I had to take that leap of faith and try again. I decided to record an album of summer jams to celebrate my deep love of classic dance grooves, summer jams, and the joy of speeding down an open road with the radio blasting a favorite song. I hope you enjoy this collection of songs as much as I enjoyed recording them. We are filming videos for every song on the album. There will also be numerous dance remixes, acoustic versions and some surprise this along the way.
